Webinar - Aeronautics Calls 2012 and Beyond

The AAD KTN is running a webinar at 10am on 3rd May for anyone to join, it will cover information concerning Aeronautics Calls in 2012 and beyond including further information on FP7, Horizon 2020, Aeronautics and Air Transport Working Programme 2013, Clean Sky and more. Clean Sky 12th Call for Proposals

The 12th call for proposals for Clean Sky is scheduled to be launched on Wednesday 11th April. A provisional list of topics has been published. The 12th call is scheduled for July 2012.

£60m for Aerodynamics Centre

Chancellor George Osborne announced a £60m commitment to an Aerodynamics Centre. This is the first output of the Aerospace Growth Partnership. The investment will be spread over two years, £10m to upgrade facilities and £50m resource funding for delivering the research.

New Catapult Centres Announced

The Technology Strategy Board have announced the next Catapult Centres (formerly Technology Innovation Centres) will be in future cities and transport systems. These join the five Catapult Centres that were previously announced; high value manufacturing, offshore renewable energy, cell therapy, satellite applications and connected digital economy. All Catapults are expected to be fully operational in 2013.

Event - Unmanned Aerial Systems 2012

Registration is now open for Unmanned Aerial Systems 2012, taking place in Bath 25-28th June 2012. The event is ideal for people wanting to engage with leading civilian and technology experts working on the next generation of unmanned systems.

Opportunity - Aerospace and Defence Roadshow

Now in its 5th year, the ADS supported Aerospace and Defence roadshow will be touring various companies in September. This represents an opportunity for you to take your products and services directly to the customer on board an amazing exhibition vehicle and meet with the Engineering, Purchasing and Senior Management Teams directly on their premises. Companies include Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Selex, Thales, Goodrich, GE Aviation, Cobham, Qinetiq, MBDA, BAE Systems and L3 Comms. Email John Aldridge at Dream Marketing if you wish to participate.

Grant Success - Regional Growth Fund: GAMMA Project

The University of Manchester has been involved in a successful bid for funding to develop jobs in the area of Autonomous Systems in the North West. GAMMA (Growing Autonomous Systems Mission Management Applications) is a technology and next generation supply chain development programme led by North West Aerospace Alliance in partnership with BAE Systems and North West Universities Manchester.
